Hallowe'en

Taranee was rushing around her room, getting her outfit ready. A long orange dress, and her arms were feathery wings. Will Hay Lin's help from the night before, she was a glittering Phoenix. She looked in the mirror, not bad, she thought, as the put in contacts.

At the Vandom household, Will was rummaging through her closet to look for an outfit. How come I never have anything to wear? Will wondered, very frustrated. There was a knock on the door and Ms. Vandom walked into Will's room.

"Still can't find a costume?" she asked.

"I don't have anything to wear for Halloween! I knew I should have said 'no' when Cornelia asked me if I was going...And I promised her I'd wear something nice."

"How about this dress?" Ms. Vandom pointed to a glittering red dress at the back of Will's closet.

"Fine," Will said with a huff. She changed into the dress and hopped into their van. They were going to pick up the other girls.

"Hehe!" Hay Lin giggled as she looked at herself in her mirror. She was wearing a Black Dragon costume.

"Hay Lin! Will's here!" Her mom shouted from down stairs.
"Coming!" Hay Lin hollered back. She ran down the stairs and said goodbye to her parents and Grandma.

Taranee shrugged a long black coat over her outfit, and slipped orange Converse on. The orange dress just looked like a skirt. She took her contacts out and placed them in a box and put some orange flat shoes and her contacts in a small backpack, along with some lipgloss, eyeshadow and glittery beads for her hair. She replaced her glasses.
"Mum, I'm cycling to Hay Lin's!"
"Are you sure you don't want me to take you straight there?" answered Theresa.
"I'm fine!"
"Peter's cycling with you then,"
"Fine!" Taranee sighed.

She and Peter clambered on their bikes. Hay Lin lived the closest to her, and Will wasn't too far away either. Cornelia and Irma lived the other side of Heatherfield.

"How are your friends, Cordelia was it..."
"You know full well it's Cornelia, Peter and she's not there. It's Hay, Will and me."

"I can see Taranee!" Hay Lin bellowed at her parents.

Will picked up Irma first. She was wearing a skeleton shirt and pants. Then, Will picked up Cornelia, who was wearing an extremely pretty purple dress.

"Nice dress," Will said, commenting on Cornelia's sparkly dress.

"Yours isn't half bad either," Cornelia said.

Now it was time to pick up Hay Lin. Will already knew Taranee would be at Hay Lin's. The Vandoms' car pulled up the driveway.

Taranee pedaled fast, grinning at her slow brother. He was better at surfing than cycling! She nodded to acknowledge Hay Lin in the doorway - with a complicated looking outfit, when she got closer, she saw it was a dragon.
"Snazzy," complimented Taranee - her favourite word.
Peter cycled behind, and grinned at Hay. "Hi Hay, I'll just stick around till the others arrive."
He wants to see Cornelia. Taranee telepathicly sent through to Hay Lin. She saw Hay Lin's stifled chuckle.

"I know!" Hay Lin replied waving.

The Vandoms' van pulled up the driveway. Will slid out of the car and pounded up the steps. Ring! The doorbell sang.

"Will's here!" said Taranee, as Hay opened the door.

"Ready to go to the Halloween dance?" Will grinned.

"Yep!" smiled Taranee, she moved her bike round the back of the resteraunt, where she would pick it up later.
"Hi Cornelia, nice dress!" said Peter, giving a small wave.
"See you later, Bro!" grinned Taranee, clambering in the back with Cornelia and Irma.

After everyone buckled their seatbelts, Ms. Vandom stepped on the gas. They soon arrived at Heatherfield for the dance!

"Let's go!" Cornelia said excitedly, already climbing out the car. Will and the others followed and entered the gym, which was decorated lavishly for Halloween. Music was pulsing loudly; it seemed as if it were rocking the gym.

"Oh my gosh!" Cornelia yelled. This party was huge and filled with really cute boys! There was this really cute boy walking with a huge guy in a blue outfit. "Wanna go talk to him?" she asked them.

Taranee started to shake her head, but noticed Nigel standing next to the guy Cornelia mentioned. Taranee hung up her coat into the cloakroom and slung her camera in a small orange bag that matched with her pretty Phoenix dress. She followed Cornelia to the group of boys.

Will watched Taranee and Cornelia walk up to the boys. Will was not interested in that particular group of boys. She was too busy staring at Matt, who was performing on stage.

Hay Lin ran to the dance floor and started executing a weird new dance move.

Irma jogged up to her best friend, and pushed away the Grumper Sisters, who were dressed as zombies, and were sniggering at Hay. Irma joined in with the dancing, along to Cobalt Blue's beat.
Taranee had a cup of cola in her hand, and was standing behind Cornelia, blushing.

"Oh yeah!" Hay Lin grabbed Irma and swung her around.

Taranee giggled fondly at her two goofy friends.
"Hi, Taranee,"
Taranee spun around.
"Hey Nigel!" she blushed.

Will turned her gaze away from Matt as she heard Nigel and Taranee talking. Will smirked slightly and then continued looking at Matt.

"Helpless aren't we?" Cornelia said behind her. Will turned tomato red.

Some guy jogged Nigel and his jutted forward his punch cup flying, it missed Taranee and went flying onto Bess Grumper's head. Both she and Courtney turned round, furious.

Will turned around just to see the Grumpers get drenched in red punch! Will joined in with the laughter.

"Who did that?" Bess snarled, turning around to inspect the giggling crowd.

Elyon, dressed in her Princess Jasmine (disney) outfit, sits on her porch as she waits for the ride that never came.

Elyon: Where is Cornelia? She promised we'd go to the Halloween party together. She wouldn't forget about me... Would she?

"Hey, where's Elyon?" Will asked Cornelia.

"Oh dangit! I forgot - I promised I'd take her!" Cornelia exclaimed, grabbing her phone to apologize. She dialed Elyon's number and waited for her to pick up.
